Building an AI roadmap at Jaguar Land Rover.
Jaguar Land Rover needed a clear way to define its data-driven engineering ambitions and transform them into a prioritised AI roadmap for action.
The Challenge
In Spring 2025, Jaguar Land Rover’s Head of Data Driven Engineering & AI needed to develop the business case for data-driven engineering: a new operating model to build an engineering workforce empowered through technology, process, and skills, to innovate faster, access critical data seamlessly, and make decisions more confidently. The challenge was to identify and prioritise the right data and AI use cases, align these to strategic business objectives, and create a compelling case for investment and action.
Our Solution
Drawing on the Aiimi AI Strategy Framework, we helped JLR build a prioritised roadmap of use cases that aligned to strategic business objectives, such as vehicle programme robustness. We measured the impact of these use cases against feasibility, affordability, and alignment with enterprise missions. Crucially, we also helped JLR assess how adopting its new operating model would accelerate each use case. This gave JLR a clearer view of where data and AI could deliver value, where to focus first, and how to build a stronger case for change.
The Results
Aiimi has helped JLR to identify data and AI priorities, uncover new opportunities, and create a strong business case for senior buy-in. JLR is now developing priority data use cases, including working with Aiimi to extend its Enterprise Search and data classification capability for its product engineering documentation, to enable the 16,000 Engineering employees to leverage existing corporate knowledge.

What’s Next
As this work progresses, JLR is building on the roadmap we created together to drive future innovation, better access to knowledge, and more confident decision-making across engineering. This work is grounded in JLR’s existing relationship with Aiimi and its long-term use of our Workplace AI platform, which gives JLR an established foundation to support its AI ambitions.
